Event Details

An innovative approach to improving the healthy work environment while simultaneously addressing nurse staffing was introduced by the Organization of Nurse Leaders of NJ (ONLNJ) in 2017 with the support of the Chief Nursing Officers Constituency of the New Jersey Hospital Association, the New Jersey State Nurses Association (NJSNA), the NJ Council of Magnet Organizations (NJCOMO), and the NJ Council of Deans and Directors. The model framework is based on the American Association of Critical Care Nurses Standards for Establishing and Sustaining Health Work Environments. ONL NJ is pleased to announce the launch of the ninth cohort of the NWESC to begin in the fall of 2024.

The NWESC's have expanded into several cohorts and all NWESC members will attend the complete education series with curricula based upon the AACN (2016; 2005) Standards for Establishing and Sustaining Healthy Work Environment which include:

  • Skilled Communication
  • True Collaboration
  • Effective Decision Making
  • Appropriate Staffing
  • Meaningful Recognition
  • Authentic Leadership
  • Resilience (adopted by ONL NJ in 2021)

Successful completion of the education sessions is defined as attendance for 100 percent for each learning session and a completed course evaluation for each session.
